We knew Audrey and John at Rockhaven in Jos in the early eighties. They provided a lovely welcoming environment for visitors at the church guesthouse there. We lived close beside them and enjoyed their gentle hospitality and encouragement on many occasions. John tackled difficult issues on behalf of the church and did a grand job. He was also a notable gardener, and had care of the guesthouse grounds. Geoff and Gill Kimber

- We knew Audrey best in her retirement. She and John went to Nigeria to serve with SUM/Action Partners a Mission for which they'd prayed for many years. Later Audrey was a valued member of Across Cultures, an interchurch team in Lancaster reaching out to the wives of international students. A few years ago she helped at Lancaster Baptist Church toddler group. "Well done good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of your Lord. David and Gwenyth Carling
